Week in Review 12/23 – 12/29 + a Giveaway

December 29, 2018 by Suzie Waltner 20 Comments

Week in Review

I pray everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday It’s been a really quiet week here at Remembrancy. Between the holidays, company, and reading/reviewing for Hope by the Book magazine, I didn’t have much time to read and review for the blog, so there’s not a whole lot to share this week. There is one book giveaway and my weekly giveaway, though. I dropped my visitors off at the airport this morning and am now catching up a bit because January is going to be jam-packed with books and bookish goodies!

But before we go, was there a book on your Christmas list you didn’t get under the tree? I’m giving away a $25 Amazon gift card this week so you can fill that bookshelf back up.

I honesty am not sure what releases I am anticipating. 🙂 There are still some from 2018 I need to read like, Cynthia Ruchti’s Miles From Where We Started or Jamie J Wright’s, House on Foster Hill.
Thanks for the chance at this giveaway.

I am currently reading “An Improbable Pairing” by Gary Dickson, which Amazon lists as a January 8, 2019, release. It’s a very believable period story, circa 1963, about an American graduate student in Switzerland having a romance with a sophisticated countess. The character of the countess, the way she speaks and acts, is very true, I think. (Not that I have met any international high-society circa-1963 countesses.) I’m not sure if it counts as a “clean” romance, because the characters do conduct amours, but there are no coarse descriptions of liaisons, so that’s a plus! I find the book very entertaining.
