Genre: Christian romantic suspense
Release Date: March 12, 2019
Book 2 in the Beauty in Flight series:

Harper’s second chance at life will become a second stint in prison if anyone connects those two dead men to her.

Nutfield, New Hampshire, is as good a place as any to hide from the murderer Harper left behind in Maryland. All she has to do is lie low and make enough money to keep herself and Red alive until she can figure out who her enemies are.

Jack Rossi isn’t sure what to make of his beautiful new tenant and her confused grandfather. Something’s not right, but the love he sees between them and the care she takes of the old man convinces Jack they’re trustworthy. As drawn as he is to Harper, she’s his tenant, so she’s off limits.

Derrick, Harper’s ex-boyfriend and Red’s grandson, needs to find his grandfather and get his hands on the old man’s money before Derrick ends up with a bullet in the skull. And when he gets his hands on Harper, she’ll be sorry for what she’s put him through.

Harper and Jack grow closer, but so do her enemies. If Harper can’t trust Jack with the truth, she may lose more than just this glimpse of true love. She may lose her freedom—or her life.

Fiery and quick-tempered, Meryn chafes under the curfew and other restrictions to her freedom. Jesse is equally amused, intrigued, and terrified by her spirit, knowing she could find herself in prison if she shows defiance to the wrong soldier.

His worst fears are realized when she commits a crime he cannot protect her from. Now they both face an uncertain future, and the very real threat of losing everything, including their lives. When Fire Rains Down by Cecelia Earl – Review

August 31, 2018 by Suzie Waltner 1 Comment

I love it when a series builds on itself well, and in the conclusion on the Kingdom Come trilogy, growth is made, secrets are revealed, and a satisfying conclusion is laid out for readers.

When Fire Rains Down

In My Opinion…

Julia White has acknowledged and accepted her place fighting beside heaven’s warrior angels. And while she’s learned some hard lessons, she still tends to play the lone ranger and face the fight on her own.

Lucifer isn’t the only one who wants something from the White family. And Julia isn’t sure who she can trust.

When Smoke Rains Down by Cecelia Earl – Review

August 25, 2018 by Suzie Waltner 1 Comment

Angels and demons, good versus evil, wars that have been waged from the beginning of time. In Cecelia Earl’s Kingdom Come trilogy, they all converge in Shady Grove, and in book two, things are progressing–not in the way Julia wants them to, either.

When Smoke Rains Down

In My Opinion…

Julia White has accepted her hybrid status—half angel, half human. And now she’s ready to wield her sword to protect her family.

When Smoke Rains Down, the second book in the Kingdom Come trilogy, reveals some growth in Julia. She’s no longer hyper focused on earning enough money to give herself and her family a better life. But…she’s a teenager. One who has experienced a loss. And like many young people, Julia’s rash decisions are often based on her emotions. She still believes she is the only one to save the people she lives and Shady Grove

The demons are getting stronger and now have weapons no one is sure what to do with.

Unbreakable by Sara Ella – Review

May 21, 2018 by Suzie Waltner Leave a Comment

I loved book one of Sara Ella’s Unblemished series. And while I was in the minority, I was a bit let down by book two, so when book three came out earlier this month, both interest and hesitation played in when I decided to read Unbreakable.

This was another audiobook “read” for me and there are four points of view so I rewound quite a bit to figure out whose mind we were in at given times, so it’s not one I’d recommend listening to over reading.

In My Opinion…

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the final book in the Unblemished trilogy. I know I was hoping for some resolution after book two!
