February 15, 2019 by Suzie Waltner Leave a Comment

The final book in Rachel Dylan’s Atlanta Justice series starts with a murder and proceeds full speed ahead from there.

About the Book

Breach of Trust

Corporate litigator Mia Shaw suffers the shock of her life when she finds her colleague and friend brutally murdered. Grief-stricken and furious, Mia vows that she will do anything to seek justice and make the killer pay.

The man accused of the murder is a friend of security tech guru Noah Ramirez, but the evidence just doesn’t add up. To save his former ATF partner, Noah needs to convince Mia that the real killer is still on the loose.

Mia soon has more than the criminal prosecution to worry about, however. She is tasked with taking over her friend’s last case and learns he was hiding secrets about his client. She thinks she may have stumbled upon corporate espionage that has turned deadly, but she has no idea of the danger involved. Her only ally is Noah, despite their difference of opinion on the homicide case. Can he win Mia over to his side and protect her from ever-growing threats?

Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble – Review

January 31, 2019 by Suzie Waltner Leave a Comment

Colleen Coble wraps up her Lavender Tides series with answers Shauna’s been seeking since book one and plenty of suspense of it’s own!

About the Book

Secrets at Cedar CabinFrom USA TODAY bestselling author Colleen Coble comes the third book in her beloved Lavender Tides series.

Her mother lied about her identity and her husband wasn’t who she thought he was—can Bailey even trust herself anymore?

Running for her life in the wake of her mother’s murder, Bailey Fleming escapes to the only place she can think of—a remote, dilapidated cabin in Lavender Tides. Intending to finally get to the truth behind the lies of her past, Bailey only finds more questions when bodies are discovered near her cabin hideout along with traces of a dangerous human trafficking ring. In an unlikely partnership with FBI agent Lance Phoenix, Bailey races to understand the mystery surrounding her life and circumstances before the murderer tracks her down.

Meanwhile, Lance is determined to rescue his sister, Ava, who was abducted after running away from home as a teenager. An unexpected lead brings him to the remote cabin, and he wonders if Bailey—with her suspicious past and strange connections to his sister’s case—is really who she claims to be and if she can somehow lead him to Ava.

Filled with Colleen Coble’s custom blend of suspense and romance, Secrets at Cedar Cabin takes us back to the evocative landscape of Washington’s coast where nothing is quite as it seems.

“Secrets at Cedar Cabin is filled with twists and turns that will keep readers turning the pages as they plunge into the horrific world of sex trafficking where they come face to face with evil. Colleen Coble delivers a fast- paced story with a strong, lovable ensemble cast and a sweet heaping helping of romance.” —Kelly Irvin, bestselling author of Tell Her No Lies

Cold Dawn by Susan Sleeman – Review

January 27, 2019 by Suzie Waltner Leave a Comment

While this is the final book in Susan Sleeman’s Cold Harbor series, I have a suspicion this isn’t the last we’ll see of the Blackwell Tactical team.

About the Book

Cold Dawn Susan SleemanAn inferno meant to destroy…

Blackwell Tactical operator and former criminalist Samantha Willis discovers forensic evidence to prove her friend has been murdered. But before she can gather the evidence, an explosion erupts and a fiery inferno traps her in a building. She helplessly watches the evidence go up in flames and prays that she can escape before the encroaching flames take her life.

Or an act of revenge…

Firefighter and former Navy SEAL Matt Griffin knew his friend’s death was no accident, and he arrives at the building to gather his own evidence. But he sees the building engulfed in flames and discovers a familiar car parked in the lot. Sam, his former girlfriend, had to be trapped inside. Despite his training, despite his captain’s protest, Griff takes off without a threat assessment, risking his life to enter the building and drag Sam to safety. When he does, he can’t help but wonder if the fire was set to destroy evidence or if it was set to kill Sam. Either way, if Sam survives, he vows to hunt down the answer.

In My Opinion

The lone single member of the Blackwell Tactical team is about to meet her match (but she’s already met him). Former criminalist Samantha Willis wants to uncover the truth of what happened to her childhood friend. In order to give the investigation her best, she calls on the man whose heart she broker seven years ago.

Griff still wonders why Sam walked out on him. No explanation. No contact afterward. She was just…gone. Now he’s working alongside her and, after multiple attempts on her life, he’s focus is on keeping her alive without losing his heart again.

Susan Sleeman once again takes readers through the investigation process with a team of professionals who have each other’s backs—false starts, unanswered questions, and all. Between multiple suspects, professional support from the Veritas group, and intense moments that place Sam and Griff in jeopardy, readers are immersed in an authentic and realistic investigation.

Cold Dawn also has the bonus of working as an excellent series bridge to Sleeman’s upcoming Truth Seekers series (book 1 coming in April 2019) with an introduction to Emory and the Veritas group.
