Protecting him just might cost her everything…

Elite Guardian Charlie Lee knows that there is no future with the woman he loves—fellow Guardian Lizzie Tremaine. And, he gets it—as a single mom, Lizzie has to protect her daughter. But more than anything, he wants the chance to prove himself.

Then, the unthinkable happens—while working undercover, Charlie is seriously injured…and his memory of the past four years is lost. Could it be the fresh start that he didn’t realize he longed for?

Despite a friendship that’s turned flirtatious at times, Lizzie Tremaine has held Charlie at arms’ length. She’s lost all the men she’s ever loved, and is unwilling to risk her heart again. Still, she’s glad to keep an eye on him—as his bodyguard—and while she’s at it, help him put the pieces of his past together, including discovering who attacked him, and why.

But Charlie seems to have forgotten their agreed-upon professional distance—and suddenly, all the rules are off the table. She’s seeing a side of Charlie she could possibly let into her heart. Problem is, the closer he gets to uncovering his memories, the closer he gets to trouble.

It’s her heart…or his life. What will protecting Charlie cost her?

Another edge-of-your-seat Elite Guardians thriller!

An Hour Unspent by Roseanna M. White – Review

September 6, 2018 by Suzie Waltner Leave a Comment

Roseanna M. White writes characters I want to hang out with long after the end of the book. Evelina and Barclay in An Hour Unspent is no exception.

In My Opinion…

Let me just get right to the point and then I’ll delve in a little deeper: Barclay’s story was completely worth the wait!

The self-appointed older brother to a patchwork family of orphans and street thieves, Barclay’s heart for those he has chosen to love and protect shines throughout the pages of An Hour Unspent. When he is given an assignment by the mysterious V and connects with a clockmaker and family, he is drawn to the man’s daughter. Evelina Manning’s drive and determination hide a more vulnerable side that Barclay sees clearly.

An Hour Unspent

Set against the backdrop of World War I, Barclay’s story has twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. But one of my favorite parts of reading a Roseanna M. White book is gaining the little pieces of history that I’d not ever thought about throughout.

Barclay is new in his faith and struggles with his past choices (especially when a couple of them come back into his world), but the man has a heart of gold and that is what makes you cheer for this guy to get his HEA with someone who understands him and his love for those less fortunate.

Can’t Wait Wednesday – Engraved on the Heart

June 13, 2018 by Suzie Waltner 4 Comments

cant wait wednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here.

There are so many great books out right now with more coming soon! Are you having as hard a time keeping up with all of them as I am? Too many books is better than not enough, right?

I’ve heard so many fantastic things about this book and can’t wait to read it! July 1 isn’t too far away, right?

Worth the Risk by Heather B. Moore (Review)

March 13, 2018 by Suzie Waltner Leave a Comment

I first learned about Heather B. Moore’s new contemporary series from another blogger’s First Line Friday’s post. The concept sounded good and the cover is eye-catching. This is a quick read with likable characters in a small town setting.
