His promise will cost him far more than he imagined.
Guilt has defined Luke Dempsey’s life, but it was self-destructiveness that landed him in prison. When his friend and fellow inmate lay dying shortly before Luke’s release, the older man revealed he left a string of clues for his daughter, Finley, that will lead her to the treasure he’s hidden. Worried that she won’t be the only one pursuing the treasure, he gains Luke’s promise to protect her until the end of her search.
Spunky and idealistic, Finley Sutherland is the owner of an animal rescue center and a defender of lost causes. She accepts Luke’s help on the treasure hunt while secretly planning to help him in return–by coaxing him to embrace the forgiveness he’s long denied himself.
As they draw closer to the final clue, their reasons for resisting each other begin to crumble, and Luke realizes his promise will push him to the limit in more ways than one. He’ll do his best to shield Finley from unseen threats, but who’s going to shield him from losing his heart?

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here, at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here.
Welcome to April! I can’t believe we’re already a quarter of the way through the year! Here in Tennessee, the weather hasn’t decided what it wants to do yet (but at least we haven’t gotten the snow some of y’all have) and I’m looking forward to another great Nashville Predators run in the Stanley Cup playoffs! What are you looking forward to this spring?
Speaking of things we’re looking forward to (see what I did there?), another book I can’t wait to get my hands on is Becky Wade’s Falling for You. The first book in the series made my top favorites of 2017 list. You can find out why here. Readers got a sneak peek at what was to come for the Bradford sisters in True to You, and I’m looking forward to Willow’s story next.
Famously beautiful model Willow Bradford is taking a temporary break from her hectic schedule to work as the innkeeper at her family’s small-town bed-and-breakfast. She was enjoying the peace of her hometown, Merryweather, Washington, right up until she came face-to-face with Corbin Stewart, the man she loves to hate. A thoughtful rule-follower by nature, Willow threw caution to the wind four years ago when she entrusted her heart to Corbin–and suffered the consequences when it all fell apart.
Former NFL quarterback Corbin is forceful, charming, and accustomed to getting what he wants . . . except where Willow Bradford is concerned. Unable to forget her, he’s never stopped regretting what happened between them. When their paths unexpectedly cross again, he’s determined to make her give him a second chance.
When a decades-old missing persons case finds Corbin and Willow working together, they’re forced to confront their past and who they’ve become–and whether they can risk falling for one another all over again.
Welcome to Social Media Saturday!
Words on a page draw me into stories and worlds created by other people’s imaginations. I love to follow where stories take me.
At the same time, I enjoy getting to know the people behind those words that move me a little better. Social media makes it easier than every to get a glimpse at the personalities behind the words.
I’m introducing a new segment on this blog called Social Media Saturday. Each week, I’ll highlight an author who has a strong social media presence. Whether on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, or Blogs, we’ll dive into what I love about what these authors are doing with their online presence.
To kick off this segment, I’m highlighting two authors who have just released new books into the world, both of which I loved for very different reasons. For the past few years, these two have introduced readers to a fun competition they’ve developed between them. Sometimes they invite friends along for the challenge.
Meet the contenders of the always entertaining, sometimes hilarious, Pinterest Wars! Every spring, Becky Wade and Katie Ganshert compete for the title (and tiara) by attempting to recreate projects they find on Pinterest. What’s even better? They let the readers vote and one person wins a prize from the authors! [Read more…] about Social Media Saturday: Becky Wade and Katie Ganshert
