I love a book that can make me laugh, and the one I’m sharing with you today is a romantic comedy full of fun. The banter between Will and is sometimes hilarious and other times deep. inner monologue is enjoyable and made me smile.
About the book
Six months ago, William stole Hanna’s heart and shattered it in front of millions of people on a reality TV dating show. And now the big-wig CEO is back on Hanna’s home turf in Minnesota and wants her to forgive him? Fat chance of that. But life is swirling around faster than snow in a blizzard, and despite her objections, teaming up with William seems like the only option to rescue her reputation.
William has never regretted anything more than the day he gave that ill-fated interview for the reality show, The Price of Love. But while he can’t change the past, he’s determined to fix the future. He just needs to convince Hanna to forgive him—and pretend to be engaged with him. Simple, right?
When the media erupts with even worse accusations, teaming up and pretending to be engaged seems to be the only way to salvage their reputations. Despite the media frenzy that swirls around them, an attraction neither of them can fight off begins to surface. Could this love run deeper than a scandal, or will old wounds tear them apart once and for all?

I have watched The Bachelor/Bachelorette in the past, but it has been several years since I have watched it regularly. It seems most of the people are only looking for their 5 minutes of fame!
I’ve watched maybe 20 minutes of an episode. It’s not ever interested me. But this book was fun (it’s set after the show ends).
Agreed on the 5 minutes of fame part! Pretty much the same for my characters, one goes on there for promotional reasons for his job, and Hanna with no intention to find love, but more as a “why not” little adventure. I’m super certain she didn’t expect to make it past night one! Now look at her… 6 months later… 🙂
After reading what seems like the same books over and over again, The Engagment Plot sounds absolutely refreshing, especially since it’s centered on a faith based point of view. Can’t wait to read it!
It is an original premise and the witty banter makes it that much more enjoyable!
I hope you enjoy it, Sara! It is full of imperfect characters that don’t always make the best choices… but so thankful Jesus loves us ALL in our mess. #yeahforgrace #forfictionalcharacterstoo #orsomethinglikethat
I occasionally watch seasons of The Bachelor, knowing full well that it’s a horrible dating model and trashy. I would say that people watch it strictly for entertainment purposes. That’s why I did.
I’m not a fan of dating shows, but I would guess that people watch it for the drama haha.
I don’t watch dating shows regularly, but I have seen some episodes of the Bachelor/Bachelorette over the years. I think people watch because they hope for happily ever afters, they love romance, and they love the drama. Also, some people love to live vicariously through others.
