I heard a sound clip on a local radio station this week where a gal was misusing the word hibiscus. She said that when a television show breaks before the new season, they are on hibiscus.
So, after a brief hibiscus (better known as a hiatus), giveaways make a strong reappearance this week.

I can’t think of any words I get mixed up off the top of my head, but I often get people’s names mixed up, lol! I call my sister-in-law by her daughter’s name and vise versa when we’re all together. Haha!
Funny about hibiscus verses hiatus, one is a flower & the other a long break 🙂 Lots of books to add to my increasing want-to-read list!! Thanks for the gift card giveaway chance Suzie!
I have a few stand out books this year ( I read a lot):
Before I Called You Mine by Nicole Deese
More Than We Remember by Christina Suzann Nelson
Driftwood Bay & Starfish Pier by Irene Gannon
I think what I appreciate most is the strong faith theme in each of these 🙂
Before I Call You Mine was so good. And More Than We Remember too!!!
Gah…that’s suppose to read “Irene Hannon”! I really detest autocorrect. Sorry!
I knew who you meant, LOL!
I often get confidant and confident mixed up….not sure why….
The White Rose Resists was definitely one of the best books I’ve read so far this year.
I agree. The White Rose Resists was amazing!!! Weeks after reading it, I’m still thinking about it.
No words that I mix up that I know of.
LOL…no…but my family is always joking on my pronunciation of bear and beer and beard.
Re the second question – Meant for Her by Joy Avery Melville
I can’t think of any words I get mixed up, but as I get older I seem to forget names or get them mixed up. That can be embarrassing! Ugh!
I feel like I forget a name as soon as I’m told sometimes, LOL!
A stand out book I have read this year is A Reluctant Belle (Daughtry House Book #2) by Beth White. It is sooo good! I highly recommend this series!!!
I have the first book in this series but haven’t gotten to it you.
I do tend to get many names of things messed up. Like certain stock terminology or similar.
I’ve been reading this manga oyasumi pun pun, but haven’t gotten around to finishing as there’s been so much happening lately.
I’m not aware of mixing up words. Mmmmm….A stand out book so far would be The Jerusalem Assassin by Joel C. Rosenberg. His stories are AMAZING!
Sometimes when I say the word “specific” it comes out sounding like “pacific” – I get teased for that all the time. A different kind of word mix-up.
I think my favorite book I’ve read this year is Before I Called You Mine.
I really enjoyed Lakeshire Park by Megan Walker!
I haven’t read that one yet. Too many books, too little time!!! 😉
I can’t think of any words I mix up… sometimes my husband does and it’s fun to correct him 😉
