It’s the first Friday of November (can you believe we’re on the downside of another year?). This week I’m featuring a Romantic Suspense that I was thrilled to hear about it. Fans of Lisa Harris’s Nikki Boyd series get to find out the story behind Sarah Boyd’s (Nikki’s sister) disappearance. While Nikki makes appearances in the book, the main characters are the investigators working the Angel Abductor case.
Without further ado, I present to you:
First Line (Prologue): She could read the satisfaction in her abductor’s face.
About the Book
Release Date: Nov. 7, 2017
During Garrett Addison’s first week on the job as a criminal investigator for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, his team is called out to a murder scene of a young girl. She’s the third victim in a string of disappearances with one thing in common–a Polaroid photo of each victim left behind at the crime scene.
The FBI is pulled into the case to help, and Garrett finds himself working with Special Agent Jordan Lambert, the woman he once loved. When yet another girl dies–number six–Garrett blames himself and believes he doesn’t have what it takes to be an agent. What he’ll discover is that, while he may be done with the killer, the killer is not done with him–or Jordan.
Bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris unveils an unforgettable story of a case that has haunted the public and law enforcement for more than a decade. Fans of the Nikki Boyd Files will thrill to finally discover what actually happened to Nikki’s sister, Sarah. New readers will become instant fans after devouring this chilling tale.
Does Vanishing Point sound like something you’d like to read? Be sure and watch for my review later this month when I’ll be giving away a copy!
Over on my blog I’m sharing the first line from Sarah Monzon’s latest book just released this week; “The Esther Paradigm”. I’m just over half-way through the book, and I’m loving the story. But you’ll have to go over there to read the first line for The Esther Paradigm. Here I’ll share with you the first line from an older favorite.
Bedford, England — May 1659
“The babe’s crying would rip her heart to shreds if she had to listen to it one more minute.” — The Preacher’s Bride by Jody Hedlund
The Esther Paradigm in on my read list for later this month! It looks amazing. Looking forward to it.
Oh, I love Lisa Harris. I don’t have this book yet, but it’s on my wishlist.
My first line is “Sometimes leading also means following. Sometimes being first means you actually arrive second.” Service Tales by Ace Collins
It’s a good way to end the Nikki Boyd books and could almost be read as a prequel.
Happy Friday!
My first line is from Pepper Basham’s Charming the Troublemaker:
“Loser ex-husbands and freezing January afternoons left a nasty chill.”
Loved Pepper’s new book!
I’m featuring The Princess Bride on my blog, but I’m currently reading Meg Mitchell & the Secret of the Journals by Kimberly McNeil so I’ll share that here.
Prologue
If I say I go to the White Raven for the food, I’d be lying, and I’m a journalist, which means I don’t lie.
Happy Friday!

His quarry was late. Very late. – An Eye For An Eye by Irene Hannon
I just got this novel from the author! I can’t wait to read it.
Happy Friday!!! Today, I’m showcasing A Mother For His Family by Susanne Dietze. So here I will share the first two lines from the novel next in line on my review pile, Deadly Proof by Rachel Dylan.
“You can’t call that a settlement offer.” Kate Sullivan looked directly into the dark eyes of her opposing counsel, who represented a medical device company.
This sounds so interesting…I just saw this book the other day. I read the first book in the Nikki Boyd series, so I am super interesting in checking this out. Happy Friday!
I live just south of Nashville so the Tennessee settings are great.
Ohhhh, that line gives me chills. This is a new-to-me author too. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Here’s mine from my blog today…
“Reverend R. J. Brashear dipped the bread into the wine. He lifted his chin and stared at the stained-glass image of Jesus, the rocking boat, and the daring disciple”. — The Undoing of Saint Silvanus by Beth Moore
I’m looking forward to reading this one and finally finding out what happened to Nikki’s sister!
I’m featuring the first line from Pepper Basham’s ‘Charming the Troublemaker’ on my blog, but I’m going to leave you with the first line of a book I’ll be reviewing tomorrow, ‘The Bachelor Missions’ by Jes Drew:
“One bulky figure stands alone in the rain, keeping his head down–his identity obscured by a hat and large raincoat.”
Pepper’s new book is fabulous! But, then again, I wouldn’t expect less from her!
I’ve just finished Vanishing Point. Very good, but I really should have read the book description before starting it.
I’m sharing from Blue Ridge Sunrise by Denise Hunter on my blog today, and I’m currently reading the Regency Brides collection. Here’s the first line to the second novella in the book, Masquerade Melody by Angela Bell:
Whoever coined the phrase to “bite one’s tongue” was sorely mistaken in believing that silence inflicted mere physical harm.
Yeesh. Not a situation I would ever want to be in. Have a great weekend!
I cannot wait to read this book!!!
It was a great way to get closure with the Nikki Boyd series!
