It’s almost the weekend, friends. What do you have planned this weekend? Mine is going to be busy with my local ACFW meeting which will include our annual breakfast potluck and book exchange as well as my twice a month small group meeting. Hopefully, I’ll be able to fit some reading in there too.
One that’s on the top of my TBR is Seconds to Live by Susan Sleeman. I’ve been a fan of Sleeman’s books for a few years now and am so excited about her new series with Bethany House.
Now it’s your turn! Grab the book nearest you and drop the first line in the comments. Then head over to Hoarding Books and discover what others are sharing this week!
This was the first book of Susan Sleeman’s I’ve read, and I really enjoyed it! 🙂
I’m currently reading Royally Yours, the Christmas novella collection by Melissa Tagg, Betsy St. Amant, Liz Johnson, and Ashley Clark. Here’s the first line (from One Royal Christmas by Melissa Tagg): “Jonah Davies’ signature on the document spread before him could change the course of a nation.”
Happy weekend and happy reading!
This sounds very intriguing and like a very good page turner! Thank you for sharing about it! This is the line from the book I have: Glancing left and right, I crunched across the frozen weeds to the abandoned children’s home. this is from the book Off the beaten Path and this story is by JPC Allen
Happy Friday! Today I’m sharing the first lines from Stong Brave Loved by Holley Gerth: “If you ever get a little tired of life’s battles, this is for you.”

Happy Saturday!
Yesterday on my blog I shared the first two lines from Land of Silence by Tessa Afshar. I’m currently starting The Dating Charade by Melissa Ferguson so I’ll share from there.
“If one was going to dip one’s toes into the murky, pestilential waters of online dating, an escape plan was critical.”
Hope you’re having a good weekend!
About to read Seconds to Live, after I finish 2 I’m working on now!
I’m sharing the first line of Chapter 5 in Echoes Among The Stones by Jaime Jo Wright (since others also chose this book today) :
It was a cavern of hollow memories that ricocheted off dark walls, repeating themselves over and over until Imogene wished to clap her hands over her ears and scream the remembrances into silence
