We made it through Christmas. Some of you may still be enjoying a nice long holiday break while others (like me) are back to the daily grind. But, with another holiday to look forward to, the week didn’t seem as long!
This week we’re celebrating New Years. Who knew finding a book on my bookshelf with that theme would be so hard to find. I ended up reverting to a simpler, less complicated time with a beloved children’s character: Winnie the Pooh!
Check out the first line of Happy New Year, Pooh! below, comment with the first line of the book nearest you, then hop on over to the Hoarding Books Blog to check out what everyone else is sharing this week!
First Line(s):
It was January 1st, the very first day of the year, and Pooh woke up bright and early. “It’s a brand-new year!” he exclaimed. Then his tummy gave a little rumble. “No wonder I’m hungry, he said as he climbed out of bed. “I haven’t eaten since last year!”
I’m guessing weight loss isn’t on Pooh’s resolutions list! May this next year be filled with love, laughter, memories, and lots of fabulous books for each of you!
And a very Happy New Year to you! 🙂
Such a fun book! I remember reading this book with my Son when he was little.
Over on my blog today I’m sharing the first line from My Heart Belongs in Niagara Falls, New York by Amanda Barratt. It is scheduled to release on Jan. 1st! I’ll share with you here a book I’m currently reading – Across the Blue by Carrie Turansky
“Isabella Grayson’s shoes sank into the plush red carpet of Broadlands’ south hall, and she released a soft sigh. What luxury!”
Happy New Year!
Awww! Love Winnie the Pooh books!
Happy Friday! My first line is from Would-be Mistletoe Wife by Christine Johnson.
“Louise Smythe spotted her quarry and motioned her students to follow her across the sand dune.”
This is a fun & interesting read about lighthouses and the Chicago Fire! Happy New Year!!!
THE BEGINNING
“WHO ARE YOU?” I asked. – The Book of Mysteries by Jonathan Cahn
Happy New Year!
It’s been long time since I read a Winnie the Pooh book! 🙂 But they are such fun.
I’m sorry to say I don’t have a New Year themed book handy. My first line comes from Courtney Walsh’s Hometown Girl:
Beth Whitaker hated flowers.
Happy New Year!
I just love Winnie the Pooh! Now that I became a grandmother (2017), I’m excited for when he is old enough and I can read him all kinds of stories, including about Tigger and Pooh Bear.
The book I’m featuring this week is A Cowboy Unmatched by Karen Witemeyer, who I always enjoy. This is part of an enjoyable Archer Brothers series.
Have a Prosperous 2018. When I was a child Winnie the Pooh was not written, I learned to read about Jack and Jill. My first lines come from a book being released January 1. Give women have formed a Detective Agency. The Duke is upset as miles have invaded his lawn before a major tournament.
I LOVE Winnie the Pooh!!! Perfect line for new year’s–Happy New Year friend! 🙂
My kids loved Winnie tne Pooh when they were little. My first line is from Patricia Beals’s A Season to Dance: This is for them. This is for the magic. This is for evey little dreamer in the room. Ok, 3 lines, but good ones!
Happy New Year!
Happy Friday!!!
I’m sharing the first line from Nicole Deese’s novel, A Season to Love, on my blog. I’m just starting chapter 23, so I will share the first line from this chapter here:
“I dreamed of coffee: dark and rich and boldly brewed.”
A great dream to me!!! Hope you have a great weekend, and a happy New Year.
