Welcome to celebration week! It’s not only Friday, it’s GOOD FRIDAY. And what a story this weekend tells! Be sure and stop by Hoarding Books to see how others are sharing the Good News today!
I love Christian fiction for so many reasons. The cleanliness, the hope it offers, and more. But every story the authors I enjoy is rooted in Truth. The truth that every follower of Christ and every church is celebrating this weekend. Jesus loved us so much that he gave his only son as a sacrifice so each of us could live an abundant life beyond what we could ever ask for or imagine.
For this week’s First line, I’m shifting out of the fiction genre and sharing the first line from Max Lucado’s On Calvary’s Hill: 40 Readings for the Easter Season.
And here it is:
About the Book
It’s early in the final week. The props and players for Friday’s drama are in position. Five-inch spikes are in the bin. A cross-beam leans against a shed wall. The players are nearing the stage–Pilate, Annas and Caiaphas, Judas, the centurions.
Players and props. Only this is no play; it’s a divine plan. A plan begun before Adam felt heaven’s breath, and now all heaven waits and watches. All eyes are on one figure–the Nazarene.
Commonly clad. Uncommonly focused. He’s on his final journey.
Join bestselling author Max Lucado in an exploration of the final days in the life of Christ. Draw near to the Savior and prepare to celebrate the greatest miracle ever conceived.
Feel the passion. Sense the truth. Hear the promise.
Death has no power.
I pray as you celebrate this season, you are reminded of the blessings God has poured into your life.
He is risen!
This weekend I’m reading A Borrowed Dream by Amanda Cabot which is what I’m sharing on my blog and what I’ll share here “It was only a dream.”
Happy Easter!
I have enjoyed every Max Lucado book I’ve picked up. I haven’t yet read this one, guess I need to! 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!
My frist paragraph is from: Life on the Porcelain Edge by C.E. Hilbert
Tessa Tarrington’s life was in the toilet.
Job? FIRED
Dad? HEART ATTACK
Current residence? CHILDHOOD BEDROOM
Love life? NON-EXISTENT.
Her life was swirling in the bowl, just waiting for the ultimate flush.
It’s humorous but deals with hard issues.
Easter blessings!
Happy Good Friday!
My FLF is from Safely Home by Randy Alcorn. “Three men watched intently as peculiar events occurred, one right after the other, on opposite sides of the globe.”
Hope you have a wonderful Resurrection weekend! 🙂
Fantastic book!
Happy Easter!
Now that is an interesting fact that I didn’t know.
