Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here.
Happy hump day! Today is the last day of my mini-vacation/writing retreat. I’m kind of dreading heading back to the office tomorrow. But…life! Thank goodness I can always escape in the evenings into a great story. And Carolyn Miller knows how to immerse her readers in the regency world!
Underestimating Miss Cecilia comes out in July and this one is already at the top of my tbr list. In fact, I’ve seen a few people post pictures of their influencer copies on social media, so here’s hoping mine is in my mailbox now.
About the Book
Shy, sweet Cecilia Hatherleigh has always been in love with Edward Amherst, the boy next door. Yet he’s never seen her as anything but the quiet girl in the background as he flirts with the other vivacious women of the ton.
When a near tragedy brings Edward’s attention to his family duties, this prodigal son decides he needs to settle down with a proper wife. Cecilia hopes to convince him to choose her—but God may want her to forget the wayward nobleman and put her future in His hands alone.
These two try to find their way toward happiness, but prejudice, political riots, and the changing face of England’s societal structures begin to block them at every turn. Can their struggles turn to triumph—or will their paths permanently diverge?
