Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. If you’re continuing with WOW, feel free to link those up as well! Find out more here.
Do you have a favorite genre or do you only read in one? I tend to jump all over the place with what I read but mostly between romantic suspense, contemporary romance, and historical. My favorite historical period to read are set in the Regency period, and Kristi Ann Hunter excels and bringing that era to life on the page. Plus, in the series that will wrap up next month, she takes a look at some of the people society preferred to sweep under the rug. Those are just a couple of reasons why I can’t wait for A Pursuit of Home.
About the Book
In early 1800s England, Jess Beauchene has spent most of her life in hiding and always on the move in an effort to leave her past far behind her. But when she learns the family she thought had died just might be alive and in danger, she knows her secrets can only stay buried for so long.
Derek Thornbury loves the past, which has led him to become an expert in history and artifacts. He knows Jess has never liked him, but when she requests his help deciphering the clues laid out in an old family diary, he can’t resist the urge to solve the puzzle.
As Jess and Derek race to find the hidden artifact before her family’s enemies, they learn as much about each other as they do about the past. But can their search to uncover the truth and set history right lead to a future together?
