I am sad today. A dear friend and co-worker of mine lost her year long battle to cancer last night at 12:15.
Phyllis was so full of life. She held her head high while going through all of her cancer treatments. When she got out of the hospital last week, the first thing she wanted to do was be baptized. Her family and friends made that happen for her.
The last few days Phyllis has not been her. She wasn’t recognizing people and she spent most of her time asleep. Her body is healed today. Heaven is having a party in her honor. And I will see her again someday.
And yet, while all of that is true, those of us who work with her five days a week and spent time with her outside of the office are feeling a very strong void today. We are the ones hurting not her. I can hear her up in heaven laughing at us now.
Please keep Phyllis’s family, friends and co-workers in your prayers over the next few weeks as we are all feeling a great loss right now.
