The Big Book of Bible Stories for Toddlers – Review

March 18, 2018 by Suzie Waltner Leave a Comment

While I have no littles of my own, there was quite a baby boom in my office this past year and I enjoy passing along uplifting gifts and books with The Message in it to those little ones. Therefore, I was excited for a chance to review The Big Book of Bible Stories for Toddlers.

In My Opinion

To be perfectly honest, I’m not exactly sure how I feel about this one. It’s an interactive book where you can scan a QR code, choose the image that’s on the story page in the book and get a little video. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but do toddlers really need time playing with smartphones?

That said, parents can read these short (and by short, I mean 3-4 sentences) Bible stories to their young ones. This board book is a good size and the pages are sturdy so no matter how many times you’re asked to read it, the book is going to withstand the test of time and toddlers.

The simplistic storytelling and the easy questions and answers are an excellent way to get children started in the Word early. As they grow, the details can be filled in for each of these stories. The colorful illustration offer plenty to catch the eye and may even promote more questions as the reading becomes more familiar.

Over all, this is a quick way to engage children during their formative years with stories that won’t require them to stretch their attention span longer than a couple minutes.

My Rating:
