Have you heard about The Resort to Romance series? Ten weeks, ten authors , ten novellas (one a week) all take place during the same matchmaking weekend. And today, I’m reviewing the first two in the series! The novellas will be $0.99 during release week (so you have a few more days to grab A Meddled Match at that price and then when the next book releases, the price of the previous book(s) goes up.
Be sure and stick around to the end because I’ll also tell you about a pretty cool giveaway from the authors!
About The Series
It’s Matchmaking Week at an all-inclusive resort on a private island in the Bahamas. Each guest has been expertly paired and is here to enjoy one full week with their match. While there’s no money-back guarantee on the paid trip, the participants are guaranteed to find love!
About A Meddled Match
Gavin Sterling wants no part of Matchmaking Week, but his eccentric great aunts insist he fill in for a no-show or he won’t have a chance at inheriting their island resort. Surprisingly, his match intrigues him. Mollie is blunt, sassy, and best of all, has no idea he’s the son of a billionaire.
Mollie Macomb needs a relaxing vacation without the dating drama. A relationship with Gavin would never work in the real world, anyhow. He’s a gorgeous businessman. She’s a quirky failure. But even the unlikeliest couple can find love during Matchmaking Week…
In My Opinion
When Gavin’s great aunts basically blackmail him into participating in Match Week at their resort, he has no choice but to play along with their scheme. But upon meeting Molly, he’s intrigued and challenged. He enjoys spending time with this woman who pulls no punches and has no idea who he is outside of the island.
Molly is exhausted of pretending to be someone she’s not and determined to express her true colors during her vacation. Despite every effort to release him from his obligation to her, he seems to accept her—insecurities, quirks, and all.
With help from some meddling aunts, a trashy romance novel with a groan-worthy title, and some island magic, Molly and Gavin just might find what they didn’t know they were looking for. There are lots of laughs in this novella. Yet, among Molly’s brashness, some of the activities, and Gavin’s lighter side, there’s also depth with both these characters discovering truths about their lives, relationships, and dreams.
As a reader, I hope Jill Kemmerer has some more reads with this lighter side in the works.

About A Messed-Up Match
A Kindergarten teacher with fears to overcome.
An infamous blogger and magazine writer with a cynical view.
And one romantic week that will bring second chances.
Neeley Valentine has spent nearly all of her savings to participate in a matchmaking week on Joy Island in the Bahamas. But she’s not looking for a love connection so much as someone who will force her out of her comfort zone.
Pax Cannon is known to the online world as the Love Curmudgeon, and he’s ready to prove in one of his biggest articles yet that matchmaking weeks are a joke and men should run as fast they can from them.
When one of the resort’s rules is broken, bringing these two together, neither are prepared for the unexpected twists and turns that will school them on the subject of love.
In My Opinion
From the first pages of A Messed-Up Match, readers will be chuckling, because Neeley is hilarious! And Pax’s initial reactions to this strange woman who overshares only enhances that.
As the story progresses, Neeley becomes more loveable while Pax takes a little while to warm up to (mainly because of what he is doing but there is a good person behind the shield he’s put up).
Jessica R. Patch’s descriptions of the resort amenities and activities made me want a beach vacation (although probably not a match-making one). But, the truth is, the popularity of this type of getaway proves that despite loss or being burned by love, human nature longs for meaningful relationship.
A quick and fun read, A Messed-Up Match also carries the message that doing what scares us opens doors to things we never dreamed of. The other novellas in this series are now on my TBR list as I can’t wait to read what the other authors have in store for their couples.

Happy Friday! I’m sharing from The Liberty Bride by MaryLu Tyndall on my blog today. Here is the first line from Chapter 7:
“The minute Lieutenant Dimsmore offered Emeline his arm as they emerged from the companionway after dinner, she regretted accepting his invitation.”
That series has been a lot of fun to read!
This sounds like a fun collection, and what a fun giveaway!
I’ve only read two of them so far but they were both great!
