Series: The Hopeful Hearts #1
Author: Liana George
Publisher: Scrivenings Press
Release Date: October 26, 2021
Genre: Contemporary Women’s Fiction
Professional organizer Nicki Mayfield is on her way to becoming the next Marie Kondo – if only she could find clients and make ends meet! While looking for new professional opportunities, Nicki’s also determined to sort out her personal life. Despite dealing with a mother who’s a prime candidate for Hoarders and battling her own doubts about marriage and parenting, Nicki is certain she can transform the chaos around her into order.
When all hope seems lost, the eccentric socialite Katherine O’Connor enters Nicki’s world. Boosted by Ms. O’Connor’s desperate need for organizing help, Nicki pushes out of her comfort zone — in work, love, and life. Together they discover an unknown Chinese address on a business card. Determined to uncover the identity of the address and how it connected with the father her client hardly knew, Ms. O’Connor and Nicki embark on an adventure that takes them across the world. There, both women must break down the walls surrounding their hearts to help those who can’t help themselves. In doing so, Nicki and Ms. O’Connor learn that things and people aren’t always what they seem, that hidden treasures lead to new beginnings, and that sometimes — surprisingly — God has things perfectly arranged.

IN MY OPINION
When you finish reading Liana George’s debut novel, you’ll realize how perfectly fitting the series title is.
I had no idea what kind of journey Perfectly Arranged would take me on, but now that I know, it’s one I would happily take again. While I didn’t like all of the character—one in particular—at first, the growth they go through in this story is made better because of that initial doubt. And there were a few characters I liked from the start and just liked more by the end of the book.
George’s experiences living in China and as a professional organizer shine through the pages. I felt like I was there visiting The Great Wall with Nicki (and I didn’t know about the way you can get down that Nicki experiences. You’ll have to read the book to find out about it, though).
Finally, the most powerful piece in this book is the reason Nicki and her new boss are in China. Y’all, the cause that Nicki fights to save is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time and some of those scenes and people are going to stick with me for a long time.
