Eyes of Justice (A Triple Threat Novel) by Lis Wiehl and April Henry was the first in the series I have read and, admittedly, definitely not the best one to start with as I really didn’t identify with the characters until about halfway through the book. I’m sure readers who are fans of these novels were shocked when a tragedy happens in chapter two.
Allison, Cassidy and Nicole all have careers that bring people to justice. Allison is a prosecutor, Cassidy is a crime journalist and Nicole works for the FBI. As the three often work together and are best friends, they have dubbed themselves “The Triple Threat.” When one of the triple threat is murdered, her friends are determined to bring the killer to justice.
There is a lot of real-world crime and tragedy in this book. The authors are not afraid to show the evil side of the world and real-life tragedy is brought to the forefront immediately. Because I had no attachment to these characters, it was hard for me to get into the book at first. It wasn’t until I was about halfway through that I became a little more invested and wanted to see the killer brought to justice. For fans of these books, I would say this one is a must-read. For anyone looking to pick up a crime novel, I would suggest starting with another title so you get to know these three women better before picking up Eyes of Justice.

Excellent review. I really enjoyed this book–after I recovered a bit from the shock of having one of the Triple Threat gals murdered! I completely agree–the loss of one of the main characters early in the book is much more shocking if you have read the previous books in the series. So I recommend your readers read at least one–Heart of Ice was a great one.
This book is a great blend of mystery, suspense and chick lit. The friendships between the women are portrayed realistically, complete with occasional insecurities and self-doubts, but also fierce loyalty. Lis’ experience in the legal field and in the media allows her to write realistically about these characters and their adventures as they solve crimes.
