About the Book
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer—that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.
But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate—and not to mention devastatingly handsome—single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?
I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?
In My Opinion
I am a fan of Sarah Monzon’s Book Nerds and Boyfriends novella, so when she announced she was writing some full-length romcoms/chick lit books, I was on board before reading the first word.
And y’all, Molly (book one in Monzon’s Sewing in SoCal series) was everything I expected and more. From the title character with pink hair who loses her job because she can’t tell a lie—and this little episode had me rolling—to the handsome Ben, doctor and daddy extraordinaire. Add in cute little Chloe and a group of girlfriends who know Molly better than she knows herself, and this is one read that both delights and digs deep.
Each of the characters in this book is so relatable, I can’t help but wish they were real and lived next door to me! I’m looking forward to more shenanigans with the sewing friends and what Monzon has instore for the others.
