Keeping Her Close by Carol Ross – Review

October 18, 2019 by Suzie Waltner 1 Comment

About the Book

Hired to protect her

…unable to resist her

The job sounds simple: teach a businessman’s daughter how to stay safe. But former navy SEAL turned bodyguard Kyle Frasier has a personal motive, too. Harper Jansen is his late best friend’s fiancée. Loyalty demands he protect her, not that Harper looks in need of rescuing. In fact, it’s Kyle who needs help—balancing duty with his desire to build a life with the one woman he shouldn’t want…

In My Opinion

Harper Jensen Bellaire is a character you’re not going to want to miss. Her tendency to blurt out information without fully comprehending a situation is obvious (and quite humorous) the first time she meets Kyle Frasier. Despite her father’s success, she’s kind and down to earth. She’s been hurt by others and guards her heart.

At first, Kyle comes across as intense and rigid which makes those moments when his sense of humor ekes through all the more fabulous. I mean, the yoga class scene alone makes the entire book worth reading. While Kyle’s family dynamics aren’t perfect, each of them is trying to figure their relationships out in their own way. And the Frasier clan makes Keeping Her Close all the sweeter with their all-encompassing welcome of Harper.

The story itself is believable and engaging. Carol Ross also leaves a little tidbit of who may show up in a future book (at least I hope we get to hear more about Rhys!). If you enjoy clean romance with well-developed characters and touches of humor, this is one not to miss.
