About the Book
For interior designer Lisa Reno things go from bad to worse when her contractor-brother falls off a ladder and breaks his leg. Now she has to deal with the past coming back to haunt her, an old house with a corpse in the creepy cellar, and her best friend trying her best to fix her up with any man that moves.
Nick Woodward is willing to do his old college roommate a favor – especially since it involves renovating his own inheritance. The last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone. When he lost his wife and unborn child so suddenly, he had made the decision to keep God and everyone else at arm’s length.
So far, so good.
Ah, the difference a trip to a dingy basement makes.
In My Opinion
When Lisa’s brother is sidelined by a broken leg, she takes on a house renovation project. When she and the owner of the house (her brother’s best friend and Lisa’s college crush) check it out to plan for what needs to be done, the discovery they make in the basement sidelines them.
Regina Rudd Merrick’s first book in her RevoVations series has a lot to recommend it. There’s a little bit of history about this area of Kentucky, there’s home renovation and decorating information, there are family dynamics, a small mystery and tons of chemistry sizzling between Nick and Lisa leading them down the path to romance.
There are some good hints about what readers might expect in book two of this series as well (and I, for one, can’t wait to get a peek into Del’s head).
