I read book one in this Amy Kate mystery series this past week and enjoyed getting to know this sweet bookshop owner who is a trouble magnet.
About the Book
A mob boss attending the nuptials.
A groom holding a bloody knife.
A reverend lying dead in his office.
Who says weddings can’t be fun?
When Amy Kate attends the wedding of a close friend, the groom is found hovering over the dead body of the reverend holding a bloody knife. It looks like an open and shut case until the bride convinces Amy Kate that the groom is innocent.
As Amy Kate dives deeper into the case, she discovers the guest list for the wedding reads more like the U.S. Marshal’s most wanted files. And Gabe, her handsome detective boyfriend, doesn’t want her anywhere near the Marshal’s investigation or the Atlanta crime boss that’s in the mix. When the truth about the reverend’s past comes to light, Amy Kate is left with more questions than answers. Who would want the reverend dead, and why now?
Can Amy Kate find the killer before the out-of-towners leave, or will a wedding be the perfect place to get away with murder?

Happy Friday!
I’m just starting Hope Between the Pages by Pepper Basham, so I’ll share a line from there.
“For the entire afternoon, I waited for a summons to meet with Mrs. Vanderbilt, but the fateful moment never came.”
I hope you have a good weekend!
Wow what a first line!!!
My first line comes from Heirlooms by Sandra Byrd:
March 1958
Helen Devries carefully removed her nurse’s cap, fluffing her platinum , back combed bouffant, crackling the Aqua Net laquering it in place.
Mysteries are fun!
