I’m digging back into 2020 for today’s first line.
About the Book
When Dr. Libby Holman’s favorite patient, Sophia Romano, nearly dies after a routine dose of chemotherapy, Libby has more than a hunch the drug somehow got contaminated with a dangerous toxin at the factory. After all, Sophia tolerated the first five cycles of chemo without a hitch. Sophia’s son, prosecuting attorney Marcus Romano, isn’t buying Libby’s lame excuse. Not one bit. He suspects Libby botched up the dose calculation and thereby overdosed his mother’s chemo. Can you spell L-A-W-S-U-I-T? Is it malpractice, a manufacturing mishap, … or something far more sinister? Libby and Marcus struggle to work together, hampered by her fear of malpractice and his suspicion of medical incompetence. Despite their mutual mistrust, they find themselves attracted to one another. When Libby’s life gets threatened by a man from her past, they race to uncover the truth before Libby, or more patients, get harmed. Will they also discover love? Stir in a rambunctious Labradoodle puppy and Marcus’s old fiancé and the stakes are high.

I’m very near the end of Love on Ice by Carolyn Miller, so I will share a line from there. No worries … no spoilers! LOL!
“Holly yawned. Three hours’ sleep wasn’t nearly enough but was all she’d been able to manage before the interviews had started again super early this morning.”
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I have not heard of this book or author but it sounds like it has a unique storyline. I hope you enjoy it (enjoyed it?). I am going to assume it’s a mystery? Have a great weekend!
