This book has been sitting on my bookshelf for a few months because I wasn’t sure it was something I could get into. I picked it up a couple of days ago to try to start reading it and, let me tell you, I had a hard time putting it down.
Beckon begins by following Jack Kendrick to Wyoming in search of answers about the disappearance of his father twelve years prior. Jack finds some pretty amazing (and often horrifying) things in the search for his father. The scene then shifts to Elina who has come to Wyoming in search of her missing cousin and then we shift again to George and Miriam who are seeking a cure to a disease. Through each of these characters’ experiences in Wyoming, the whole story gets pieced together.
Tom Pawlik has created a chilling, thrilling story that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. This one was definitely as page turner as you want to find out what happens to the people you meet throughout the book. It is a little bit Sci-Fi but not so far fetched that you have to suspend you disbelief. If you are looking for a good, suspenseful read, this one is highly recommended.
