All Samantha Williams wants is to use her teaching degree to instruct a classroom of second graders. With a breast cancer diagnosis at the age of twenty-three, and failed reconstruction surgery, Sam finds herself without a job and temporarily living with her parents. This isn’t the life Sam expected. When a family friend dies and leaves Sam a house and land in Whispering Creek, Tennessee, Sam must decide if leaving Wisconsin for Southern living is in her lesson plans.
Nashville native, Cole Donoven, left his family’s electrical business to write country music. When Cole’s song writing partner and girlfriend dumps him for a country music star, Cole abandons Nashville to hold up in Whispering Creek and compose one more song. The last thing Cole expects to find in the sleepy small town is a deceased friend, estate squabbles, and a Northern beauty. Will the chaos in Whispering Creek help create a bestselling song for Cole and possibly help him find a life-long collaborator?

IN MY OPINION
Barbara Britton gives readers characters to root for in Christmas in Whispering Pines. Both Sam and Cole are two people who have been run over by life and are seeking refuge.
When Sam inherits a cabin in Tennessee, she has no idea what’s in store for her. A curmudgeon of a neighbor, a new friend in town, a little boy she connects with instantly, and a man who captures her attention and truly sees her. And then there’s the gorgeous cabin with beautiful views surrounding it.
I did question how quickly Sam and Cole connected, especially since they’re both coming out of big life changes. But then again, the leaps of faith that have the most distance between where we are and where we go are the ones that are the most rewarding.

A beautiful cabin at Christmas is a charming setting for a romance that I am looking forward to reading.
Hi Roxanne. I’m partial to cabin-in-the-woods stories as long as they aren’t thrillers. I made sure Samantha inherited a nice log home. Thanks for being part of the tour.
