About the Book
A lonely rancher. His brother’s surprise widow.
Can they find their way home?
Still processing his grief, Jet Mayer is shocked to learn his late brother had a secret wife and child. Though he’s neck-deep running his family’s ranch, nothing will keep Jet from supporting Holly and little Clara. But Holly wants to follow her own path—even if Jet’s the steadfast man she once wished for. Can they somehow reconcile their dreams to make a forever life together?

In My Opinion
We’ve all experienced a time in our lives where we feel forgotten, overlooked, or on the outside, so Holly is easy to relate too. On the other end of the spectrum, Jet is doing everything he can to keep his family from more harm and pain.
The Mayer family is so likable, I just wanted to hang out with them throughout A Cowboy to Rely On by Jill Kemerer. This book takes a different approach to stolen identity when Holly discovers her deceased husband wasn’t the man he presented himself to be. Not in a criminal way, but in one that presented the man in a better light than his past would show.
I appreciated the friendship Holly and Jet formed while each tried to fight their attraction. And bonus: Big strong cowboy with a sweet baby girl. That’s like catnip to this particular reader. I’m looking forward to visiting Sunrise Bend (and hopefully the Mayer family) again soon.
