He has home advantage…
But she’s got a strong defensive play.
Hockey star Troy Green never gives up. Not on the ice. Not when he battled cancer last year. And not when it comes to his new neighbor, Michelle Robinson. Troy only wants to help the struggling single mom and her sweet kids, but soon he’s falling for her. Is Troy finally ready to trade in his bachelor life and become a family man?

In My Opinion…
As a hockey fan who is enjoying cheering for her team in the playoffs, what more could I ask for than a hockey romance? How about one with miscommunication and dislike between the guy and gal? Or with a couple of kids in the mix?
Troy Green, a defender for a championship Toronto hockey team, is what one might call a player (in more ways than just on the ice). And when a new neighbor moves into the place next to his, he doesn’t expect to cross paths with her much.
In Her Family’s Defender, author Kim Findlay takes the readers through Troy’s journey of change. Sure, his year off due to cancer treatment has him changing his priorities a bit, but getting back into top shape and rejoining the team are still at the top of his list.
Then the Robinson family moves in next door and he learns about their tragic loss, gets to know Michelle’s hockey-crazed daughter who has ambitions of her own, and watches Michelle struggle to give her children some sort of stability, he finds himself desiring to help. Except, Michelle is resistant to accepting his offers.
Over time, Michelle and Troy leave their tumultuous initial meetings to form a friendship. Troy’s protective instincts flare as he comes to care for the kids—and for their strong, stubborn, beautiful mother—and instead of the player he’s been known as, he becomes this family’s champion.
